Lausanne was built on three hills with several bridges spaning from one part of the town to another one. This rather unusual view of the old part of Lausanne was taken from the cathedral that sit on the top of one of those hills.
As the center of the town is located between the three hills, it's possible to get an inimitable view of the roofs of the old town from any one of the bridges.
To the south, the streets gently go down along the side of one hill to the shore of the lake Leman that is also know as lake Geneva. This lake is a natural border with the France and it's not uncommon to see people live in one country and go working each day in the other one. At it's widest part between Lausanne and the French town of Ewian, the lake is near 14 km broad.
Numerous parks and museum are part of the reputation of Lausanne. We see here the building of the Photography museum but there is also the Hermitage museum (painting), the olympic muesum ...
Weather in Lausanne is rather unsettled ranging from -5 to 32 degree and can change very quickly.
